Each WVU Extension Office provides the public with information on just about any topic, either from office faculty knowledge specialties, office publications, or on-line resources. Extension programming reflects the needs and interests within the local community. 4-H & Youth Development

By far, 4-H is the most known and visible Extension development program, best known for its 4-H Clubs and summer 4-H Camps, but Extension also offers literacy and adult volunteer leadership programming related to 4-H and youth development.

Families & Health

Home is where the heart is and family and home issues are at the heart of Extension personal health programming. Under this heading are the areas of Community Educational Outreach Service (or CEOS which includes CEOS Clubs); Dining with Diabetes; and the Family Nutrition Program (or FNP).

Community, Economic & Workforce Development

WVU Extension Service’s Community, Economic, and Workforce Development personnel conduct research and provide educational assistance to local communities throughout the state. These activities are in the areas of business retention and expansion, entrepreneurship development, economic development networks, strategic planning, local government finance and special studies of socio-economic trends. WVU Extension has programs in Community Resources and Economic Development, Fire Service Extension training, Labor Studies, and Safety and Health. These programs, individually or combined, make for a valuable tool in maintaining our state’s communities.
